As we might have expected, we woke up early. We had thought that, if we woke up early enough, we’d go to Walmart on Old Lake Wilson Road for some food shopping. However, some of the residents on Burford Circle had realized that, with the borders now open, that a number of UK owners would be around so arranged an outdoor meeting near the play area for 8am.
Our good intentions about the shopping
had to be scaled down as we realized we wouldn’t have enough time to get to Old
Lake Wilson, so we compromised by going to Publix in ChampionsGate
So that we could get to a residents’ ‘Welcome Back’ meeting which started at 8am.
It was good to meet some of our resident neighbours and the total gathering must have numbered about 20, including 4 Brits apart from us.
After the meeting we had breakfast and set off for Walmart at Cagan Crossings to have a proper shop.
Normally I would have been siting out under the lanai by about this time, but it was raining and it wasn't a normal Florida heavy shower but persistent rain which only gradually subsided, so that wasn't going to happen.
There was a certain amount of siesta catching up to be done before we set off for our first meal at Miller’s. But it wasn’t to be as they told us the wait would be about 40 minutes. Instead we decided to try the new Olive Garden restaurant which has just opened up along the Osceola Polk Line Road just beyond the I-4. We got in there OK and everyone enjoyed what they had.
By then James was clearly running out of steam, so we headed back to the villa to get him bathed and ready for bed. Catherine was in bed by 7pm with Elizabeth at 8pm, but I then did a couple of hours on the blog until I finally gave in at 10pm.
Lovely pics, hope you are all starting to feel more into the timezone!
